You don't actively give them the treats, I don't think. I think they work as a passive boost, as in simply having bought them boosts the amount of points per click you get in the future. Although you're right, I don't think the game currently communicates this clearly.

Hi, just wanted to let you know about something I noticed that I don't think was intended. When you open the menu by clicking the cog in the bottom right it pauses the progression of time. When you open the settings or the controls from that menu time remains frozen, I think, because that menu is still open in the background. Is that right? I got the impression that the pausing/unpausing of time is directly tied to the opening and closing of that menu. Anywho, when you press the escape key it always closes the pause menu if it's open. When you're looking at the settings window it closes both the settings menu and the pause menu at the same time if you press escape, but that doesn't work the same way with the controls menu. Instead, if you press escape with the controls window open, the controls window remains open while the pause menu closes behind it. This makes it so that the game is continuing and time is moving, but the controls window is still open. This is really easy to do by accident as I did within a few minutes of playing the game by just looking at rebinding controls. I think perhaps the controls menu should also close when the escape key is pressed like the settings menu does, or alternatively (if players might accidentally close it while rebinding controls too often) the pause menu should be impossible to independently close in the background with the escape key while the controls window is open.

Just wanted to bring this to your attention! Loving what I've seen so far. <3

If you buy a bunch of treats and other items from the store it should help you with that. I mean my hands hurt now too, but with buying things from the store I never had any trouble with those time limits.
